about

“Byron Bay duo The Firetree fill the small stage with their bohemian presence. Dale and Josie evoke a sound of yesteryear folk, dotted with rock and bluegrass. New single Star Dreamer and a cover of Pearl Jam’s Given To Fly open the evening up to a harmonious start, and with their raw talent simply shining on their respective rhythm and acoustic guitar they leave a grateful audience in their wake.”

Indie folk darlings The Firetree are Dale and Josephine, unapologetically do-it-yourself musicians who have been steadily carving out their niche in the vibrant Australian live music scene.

Embracing the multi-instrumental culture, the pair play a modified drum-kit, acoustic and electric guitars, percussion, harmonica and mandolin to create a captivating raw indie pop sound topped with soaring vocal harmonies.

With two number one Amrap Airit singles, three EP’s and a live album under their belt The Firetree feel as though they are just getting warmed up. The global troubadours have spent the better part of the last three years on the road, touring Canada,The UK, Europe and nationally to their growing fan base.
The hardworking duo have no plans of slowing down, embarking on an Australian East Coast Tour in April to coincide with the release of their brand new single ‘Star Dreamer’ before returning to Europe for a summer tour across France and Germany.

The first single from their forthcoming EP “Star Dreamer” comes with a stunning video filmed and directed by Josephine and Dale, using only a projector, a milk bath and vintage space footage from the 1960’s.
“With a sexy euphoric vibe, their synergy creates a whispering melody mixed with Dale’s bold vocal tones,” says My Indie Nation.
